Our workshop "Identity in the Workplace: How to Be an Effective Ally" is a dynamic 120-minute session designed to help attendees better understand the challenges faced by marginalised communities, with a specific focus on people of colour.
Through the lens of privilege and unconscious bias, participants will explore how systemic inequities manifest in professional environments, often in subtle but damaging ways.
The workshop provides a safe and engaging space for attendees to reflect on their own experiences and biases while also gaining insight into the lived experiences of marginalised colleagues.
Using interactive discussions, and self-reflection exercises, participants will develop a deeper awareness of how privilege operates and how unconscious bias can perpetuate exclusionary practices.
More importantly, the session equips attendees with practical, action-based strategies to challenge racism and promote equity in the workplace. They will learn how to identify and confront microaggressions, advocate for fairer policies, and use their influence to support colleagues from underrepresented groups.
By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with tools to become effective allies, not only recognising issues of inequality but actively working to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all employees.
This session fosters lasting change and empowers individuals to take meaningful steps toward workplace equity.
